Resolved Question: Arrested on motoring offences?
SWIM would like advice on what to do, his brother has been arrested after using SWIMS vehicle ( 50cc ped ) without insurance, or a licence. In order to protect SWIM he said he took the vehicle without permission. The vehicle was borrowed. To make matters worse swims brother is on probation for an unrelated matter and currently on bail for possession of a small quantity of a controlled substance. Bike is insured but obviously not for an unlicenced user. He has passed his CBT but subsequently did not qualify for a licence following a epileptic episodes. Update, SWIM has now found out that his brother wasn't even the driver! SWIM's brother was on the back of the vehicle, and the driver had a licence, but no incurance. The arresting officer that pulled the bike up thought the brother had been driving, when in fact it was the acompanying friend. SWIM's brother for some stupid reason took the rap. And ended up with a caution for taking vehicle without consent, and charged with having no licence and no insurance when he wasn't even the one driving.

Resolved Question: I have a speeding ticket in New Jersey, my license is in Texas. Should I pay a higher fine to avoid points?
I can pay less for the fine but I would get 'points.' I'm just not sure if these points will transfer to my Texas Motor Vehicle Report. The NonResident Violator Compact refers to ignoring tickets and having your license suspended, but not the reporting of speeding tickets / points. I'd be willing to pay a few hundred dollars extra to avoid my insurance rates going up, but if NJ doesn't report to TX, I don't see the need. Thanks! mbrcatz below is somewhat incorrect - I can plead guilty to a lesser charge, which would come without points, but with a heftier fine, according to the municipal court lawyers with whom I've spoken.

Resolved Question: WHAT DO I DO? HE HAS OFFERED ME 250,000.00!!!?
I have known this man for 6 months as friends/booty call. The other day he asked me if I would be interested in traveling with him across the US in a very nice big motor home til he dies. He claims he is dying and is 56 (had a stroke 5 years ago) afftected his left side but still walks and talks normal. He told me he is worth 6 million dollars, and will leave 4 million to his two boys along with the business and the land. This will leave 2 million for us to live off and the land brings in 125,000 a year also. I told him I can't unless I have some sort of security in the end. He told me he has a 250,000.00 life insurance policy he would put in my name plus give me 50,000 in my checking before we leave for our trip!! DO I DO IT???? CAN I DO IT? I am 43 and have a home, one son who is 21 and living with me. I have no ties here, no family, no job (at the moment) and have no security for my future. I am appx. 80,000.00 in debt. What would you do??????????????????? Please help!!
